What do you think....

.....of my posting the books to choose from in the sidebar? It has occurred to me, as people continue to join, that our sidebar is going to get pretty darn long. I like to be able to scroll down through (since my plan was to read one book by each participant - haha) but it might get cumbersome. It is, after all, only April and the challenge doesn't even start until August!! Any other ideas for how we might list the books?

Also, I have some thoughts on prizes. Originally, I was going to follow the way most people do it. See who finishes the challenge, pull a name out of a hat, give some kind of a prize...

But it seems to me that every one who even submits their list is committing an act of bravery to let people into their lives in this way. I'm thinking I may give one prize at the beginning from all the participants, and then one at the end, too.

Reducing the font to 78% or less may help a little bit. It probably depends on the number of participants. You could also just have our names with a link to our selections, or a "Mr. Linky" to them if the number of participants gets too large.

what if we simply listed the books on our blogs and then sent you that link--you could them simply put a list of links of participants in the sidebar which directly link to the blog entry naming our choices.
Did that make sense to anyone but me?????

as for prizes--i like a good prize as much as the next guy, but it's up to you. I didn't actually realize there were prizes until I read this. I'm sure it's in the original post but I didn't make it past "pick books about you" and "JOIN JOIN JOIN JOIN"

Mr Linky is a good idea. I know Catepillar Days did that for the Spring Reading Challenge. Just have us link to our list: here or our own blog.

I didn't know there were prizes either, so that doesn't matter to me!

I like the list in the sidebar, just the way it is. Even if it gets long, this is still the best way to see the whole list at once. Leave it there and let's see if it becomes a problem for anybody. If not, then we have the list all in one place.

I agree with bonnie. I like the list just the way it is to scroll through and see what the book options are. I think reducing the font might be a good idea. Keeping it so that each book only takes up one line each.

I'm with Bonnie and Megan, I'd prefer to be able to scroll through the entire list, rather than have to jump from blog to blog.

Ok, I'm going to leave it as is for now, unless the list gets so long that it gets archived or something. . . I don't know how long it can get...

Anyway, if it gets too long, I'll just put a link to your post on this same blog explaining your choices...Hopefully it won't come to that...

Kookiejar: LOVE the new picture!! :)
