The Challenge!

THE CHALLENGE HAS STARTED AND IS NOW CLOSED TO NEW PARTICIPANTS!!

Everyone has chosen their five books that represent them and is now busily reading away on the books they've chosen to read! I'm looking forward to all the discussions about books that have been chosen. I'm also working on a PDF file that you can print out that includes all the books on the sidebar so that you can continue reading after the challenge is over -- I know you want to read more of these books than you can fit in in the next 5 months!

Lisa...the challenge gets underway on August 1st...when does it end?

Lisa said...

Let's say November 31st -- four months. You can choose as many or as few of the books as you like. If we end here, then we won't get into the holiday season too much...

Sounds Great!

so intriguing, and challenging, just to pick books that define you. How did you think of this??

Lisa said...

You're in luck, Book in the Life! This doesn't start till August so you have plenty of time to choose books!! (It's like therapy too, deciding what exactly "defines" you as a person...) can't wait to see your list!

Okay, Lisa, I'm in ... emerging DOT paradigm AT yahoo DOT com. I've already picked my five books, at least tentatively. Are you saying we should NOT say why we chose these books, meaning people who read them will have to figure out which aspect of each book says "something about me"?

Nattie said...

Oh, my! In for a penny...I'm in.
http://nattierosewrites.com/mt/

Lisa said...

Bonnie -- I think you SHOULD say why you picked the books -- basically, after you post your tentative list in the sidebar (you can change it up until August 1st) you can post on the site explaining your choices. This will help people decide which books they'd like to read for the challenge.

I've been meaning to post an explanation of my choices and just haven't gotten around to it yet.

I intended to read one book from every participant, but the list is getting so long, don't know if I'll be able to do it!!!!

Lisa said...

NATTIE: You'll have to give me your actual email address for me to invite you to write on the blog...I do like your blog, though!!

Yea! Please let me join! I love books and understanding other people through what they like to read... and a good challenge is always fun. Histories, mysteries and more. Please forgive any typos - one, of many, of my cats is sitting on my keyboard. Am I the only one from South Carolina, USA?

Yes, Chasida, you should say why you are picking the books you pick. Look at some of the previous posts and you'll see how people are doing it.

Then come August 1st, you pick some books other bloggers have nominated, and you commit to read them from Aug 1 - Nov 30.

Also, ennavic and angelmamasheart -- I've invited you, but the invitation hasn't been accepted. Check your email spam blocker to make sure your computer isn't discarding my emails as trash. :)

Umm, Lisa, this might be an unusual request, but I just saw that the link for my list goes to may old blog. I didn't update it for over a year... Is it possible for you to change the link to http://cozymurders.blogspot.com ? Would be great, thanks!

valentina said...

Hi Lisa, hope you will read this. I noticed that many people haven't tagged their reviews with the name of the books they're reviewing, making it very difficult to find them as soon as they become old. I'd suggest to advice people to edit their posts and add the title of the book on their post tags. Could this be done?
thanks
